How do you follow someone outside of this forum? Are our accounts not limited to this community?

When I go to the World/uncategorized category, nothing is there. I can only find this by looking at my posts.

probably the easiest way to explain it: "federation" allows social media platforms (like a forum or something like reddit) to share posts between each other. so if someone on another forum followed our "tracks" category, for example, they could see it on their forum's /world page (and vice versa). it's just a neat way to connect different forums.

you ask if our accounts are not limited to this community. simply, your account is like a gmail account. you can login to your gmail on google sites, you cannot login on yahoo, but you can send an email to a yahoo user.

I went ahead and turned it off for the moment, at least until people can get used to navigating the new forum. as you could tell, uncategorized posts were difficult to find, so no need for something confusing like that. could be a cool thing to have in the future though.

          That’s a pretty neat feature
